My love for the ocean has been my teacher. Its richness in life and especially the presence of algae and seaweed, providing food and many healing benefits to our skin and body. Inspired and trained by my than already old Irish teacher Patrick Crowley with whom I shared this love.
In the Bible you find; The waters of life; On our earth Water is the very source of all life and it is more than just a poetic phrase. Water and Life, the start of the long line of evolution that links plant, primitive animals, which are virtually nothing but water and subsequently life's watery beginning still continues to be reflected in all living processes, plant, animal and humans alike. | |

Before birth, much of man's life is spent in water, in the sheltering membranous sac of his mother womb. Our body is made up by two thirds water.
Of all the substances that play a role in life as we known it on earth is by far the most important water. Imbalances in the water household can cause illnesses including nervous problems, phobias, depression, lethargy, circulatory conditions, such as low or high blood pressure, arthritis and other diseases of the joints and certain digestive ailments, water rejuvenates and it cleanses.
Because it is the most common and familiar and the most remarkable one substance on earth; yet most people are hardly aware of its importance and the need to protect it.

Birth of Algae/seaweed.
The Algae and seaweed are examples
of life born to die and immortality by reproduction. Due to fast growth and
relative short time of existence, the seaweeds a primary example of the principles of immortality by reproduction. Holding a big kelp
leave in your hand you can ask yourself; is it two years old or 3 billion years?
In many ways there are no alternative to this
symbiotic entanglement as represented by seaweed.
A crossing between the blue algae and a bacteria and
therefore differ in properties.
Have supported and stimulated the development of
almost all types of life within and outside the ocean.
Water and the Sea is a rich source of all kinds of foods.
Seaweeds grow along the shores in the shallow region of the ocean known as the intertidal zone, the area between high tide and low tide mark. Is it risky to eat seaweeds? The use of seaweeds as food is generally recognized as safe. The risk to human health from consuming them is therefore minimal. It is however important that they are harvested from a region with very low contaminant levels to be sure. The cells contain super selective membranes able to filter and control the uptake but not able to stop several of the man-made substances now found in water/sea. Algae/seaweed produce now 1/3 of the planets oxygen and major cleaner of water and the air as second.
Algae and seaweed nourish themselves by uptake of nutrients acquired across the sea vegetable's entire surface brought about through the gentle wave action of underwater currents, algae and seaweed do not have roots nor vascular system. Possible because the composition of Sea water & human blood almost identical, contain many of the same minerals in very similar concentrations and functions. Uptake itself is an active principle.
Blood in the human body can be replaced with seawater without doing harm and has been used in the past as a treatment for certain illnesses.

When plants, animals and humans started to live on the land getting everything your body needs a important but also difficult task.
The sea is rich in minerals and so are the seaweeds and animals living there. On the other hand, degenerates in time and minerals get washed out and flow towards the sea. The more the air becomes polluted then the higher the content of acid in rainfall becomes, and the faster the process will happen. Most of the soil has deteriorated to the extent that without fertilizer nothing will grow properly.
The plants are sick and, as a result, are attacked by insects and disease.
That is one of several reasons why it is good to use food grown in the sea like fish, shellfish and seaweed which are rich in substances hardly found than in limit amounts as such present in land grown plants/products.
Some countries use more food derived from the sea than others such as China and Japan and comparing them gives us important information about the effect of different diets. An article, published in the National Geographic Magazine, claims that the world's healthiest old people are actually the inhabitants of the islands of Okinawa in Japan who remain hard working and sexually active beyond the age of 100. Their diet contains lots of tofu and seaweed.

The plants we call seaweeds are a much older group of plants than many of those we grow today on the land. In fact algae and seaweeds are no plants and never will be.
A crossing between the blue algae and bacteria and therefore and as a result unique in properties.
In many ways there are no alternative to this symbiotic entanglement on earth.
Have supported and stimulated the development of almost all types of life within and outside the ocean. Algae and seaweed do like plant not travel other than by using the currents and is passive, but when reproducing the eggs and sperms travel actively and controlled, similar as seen by animals and humans.
Avoiding B-12 deficiency has traditionally posed a great problem for people on raw foods, vegan, macrobiotic, and vegetarian diets, but seaweed just solve that problem.
However, B-12 is a vitamin normally found only in animal products. The source of the B-12 in seaweed did remains a mystery (most researchers assumed that it is made by bacteria living on the surface or in the water?) Others claimed that it was not really B-12 but an "analogue" - something that resembles B-12.
The effective use by long-term vegan/vegetarians proved that is was a real B-12 vitamin and could used as such.
Algae and seaweeds are a very rich source of trace minerals and fibres and their ability to prolong life, prevent disease, and improve health has been known for thousands of years - a truly universal type of food.

Commercial interests and
the State claim, advocate, enforce the believe that a healthy diet is possible
by limiting the choice to agricultural, man -produced products only.
Interfering by use of rules and regulations and to limit the choice and dear consequences.
Fibers;
Land based plant need a rigid structure to withstand gravity. Seaweed floats in the water and the pull of gravity about zero.
They have to be flexible to withstand the movement and currents present
in the watery environments and the body of seaweed made/constitute a
source of dietary fiber that differ chemically and physio-chemically
from those of land plants( celluloses).
Thus or subsequently induce different physiological effects. Referenced
data indicate that algal & seaweed dietary fiber may show important
functional activities, such as antioxidant, anti-mutagenic and
anticoagulant effect, anti-tumor activity, and has an important role in
the modification of lipid metabolism in human body. Conclusion, seaweeds
have a high nutritional value, therefore an increase in their
consumption, would elevate the foods offer to population.

Bacteria.
There are several important differences between the algae and
seaweed and properties of plants and animals, it combines both. A
unique symbiotic arrangement, between a plant type structure on
cellular level "blue algae", and a bacteria. Modern Scientists now
agree/accept today that algae were the first plant like life form on our
planet." Inside every living organism being it a marine aquarium or a
sea it is filled with bacteria." 4 million years ago the first
micro-drops of organic matter or blue algae got involved in a symbiotic
relationship with bacteria creating or became the uni-cellular algae for
survival purposes. Bacteria/ microbes are the experts of adaptation
when you considering the evolutionary pressures of their world.
Constantly subjected by changes in environment, competition from other
species, attacks from specialized viruses (i.e. bacteriophages), and a
shifting food supply. Confronted and forced to survive in a world
filled with rampant diseases, famines, hurricanes, and floods, man made
substances and toxins and you'll begin to appreciate the abilities of
world the microbe. There is no trick nor system nor used in the
attempted to survive.

Symbiotic
alignments are part of it and there are many more than most are aware
of. For example see the publication of Jan-Hendrik Hehemann e.a.:
'Transfer of carbohydrate-active enzymes from marine bacteria to
Japanese gut microbiota', Nature, 8 april 2010
If there's anything that the microbial world does well, it is
detoxifying things. These earthly microbes cleaned and did purify the
early world. Within the intestines, many microbes have colluded with the
competition to form symbiotic relationships with beneficial strains to
prevent spoilage, fight infections, and increase absorption of
nutrients. For example, the bacterial strains Streptococcus thermophilus
and Lactobacilllus bulgaricus, work together and transform milk into
tasty yogurt.
The thirty or so strains of bacteria and yeast found in Kefir, a
traditional fermented drink of the Caucasians, band together to form
complex ecology capable of digesting almost any food source and staving
off harmful pathogens. The first plant type form of life aligned
themselves with bacteria in order to service and prosper. A seaweed is a
macro algae build on but in most way with properties similar to the
micro algae.
It is not surprising that Mother Sea has conferred exceptional and vital
powers on algae and as such unique, cannot be compared with plants and
animal life but a different class. The roots in the soil develop similar
systems using bacteria and fungus, animals and humans use our
intestines who have evolved into a perfect microbial farm. We provide
these microbes with furnished home and plenty of food, in return, they
produce beneficial nutrients and help defend us from pathogens. This
action further allied our bodies with the microbial world and explains
the addition benefits resulting of the use of seaweed.
